CocoPlus

CocoPlus is an Agentic Operating System for Snowflake Coco. It brings structured, multi-agent workflows to data engineering projects — covering everything from project initialization through spec, plan, build, test, review, ship phases, browser observability, autonomous orchestration, and governance-aware execution.

Built using only Coco-native constructs: Skills, Agents, Hooks, and AGENTS.md.

What It Does

CocoPlus wraps a structured development lifecycle around every project — from requirements capture through production ship — enforcing phase gates, parallel specialist execution, and checkpoint-validated delivery at each step. It decomposes work across fixed and dynamic specialist personas, runs coordinated workstreams, and tracks decisions, tokens, quality findings, contracts, memory, and governance signals across sessions.

The current operating layer includes:

  • CocoConsole: a local, read-only browser control plane launched with $cocoplus console, including Flow, Cost, Sessions, Forge intent translation, Fleet Comms visibility, and the Safety panel Policy Decision Log.
  • CocoPilot: opt-in natural-language orchestration with $pilot on / $pilot off.
  • CocoForge: goal-driven expert-team meta-loop with $forge.
  • Leviathan Mode + Ronin: explicit-activation autonomous coordination with a personal assistant return briefing.
  • Dynamic Personas: evidence-gated emergent specialists with retained history.
  • Governance hooks: ReviewerLockout and PII governance with observe/enforce rollout.
  • Runtime policy engine: PreToolUse safety policies apply an allow() / deny() / instruct() model to Snowflake operations, with built-in protections for production DROP TABLE, TRUNCATE, DELETE without WHERE, production ALTER TABLE, and local policy-as-code using safe regex or documented match.operations / match.schemas / match.tables rules. Custom allow overrides for built-ins are disabled unless explicitly configured.
  • Feature-owned runtime: hooks enqueue deterministic work through idempotent, feature-owned skill contracts; the registered deterministic runtime scripts are limited to explicit feature backings such as CocoConsole, contract checks, and CocoFlow bootstrap validation.
  • CocoFlow orchestration: tiered planning, pre-dispatch complexity scoring, execution conflict gate, CocoPod liveness check, lifecycle/context.json bootstrap context, committed run-policy snapshots, stage model floors, explicit human gates, inbox-first stage transitions, dependency-group dispatch, dotted branch topology, named artifacts, thinking-effort tuning, divergence at branch points, synthesis passes, and $flow template reuse.
  • CocoSession continuity: PROGRESS handoff, predicate context, iteration and cost budgets with reserve landing, operator kill-switch, canonical terminal statuses, and one-shot steering for long-running work.
  • Evidence and proposal gates: opt-in stage evidence checks and retained Snowflake-write proposals settled with $flow settle.
  • CocoWisdom distillation and negative memory: terminal sessions can queue schema-declared wisdom distillation, contradiction review, progressive $wisdom get <topic> loading, $wisdom reject do-not-use records, and $wisdom index / $wisdom recall session-log search.
  • CocoStyle and CocoLex: $style init, $style refresh, $style show, $style mode, $style diff, and $style status keep project conventions evidence-backed; $lex define, $lex list, $lex show, $lex extract, and $lex validate keep shared terminology explicit.
  • Operational awareness commands: $stall status, $stall thresholds, $stall reset, $pulse on, $pulse off, $pulse status, $pulse configure, $adversary run, $adversary audit, $adversary gap, $diary view, $diary list, and $diary search expose no-progress detection, ambient observation, challenge review, and work journals.
  • CocoRoutine: opt-in Snowflake TASK scheduling for completed self-contained flows with $routine.
  • Research, retrospective, hygiene, and correctness loops: $flow research, $retrospective run, $hygiene --model-upgrade, $meter benchmark, $meter compare, $meter verify, $meter waste, and $audit verify make quality, coordination cost, adapter-backed transcript reconciliation, model drift, ACRR calibration, context waste, and audit integrity measurable.
  • CocoFleet goal mode: $fleet run, $fleet status, and $fleet comms support planner/producer/read-only-critic orchestration with disjoint file scopes and signoff-driven completion.
  • Console-aware visual commands: $flow view and $meter view redirect into CocoConsole when it is running.

The root plugin implements the current runtime and documentation surface while preserving older project state through explicit migration skills.

Older CocoPods migrate forward with $migrate v2 --dry-run and $migrate v2; new work should use the feature-owned skills directly. In V2.0.2, queued hook follow-up work uses durable request envelopes, stable idempotency keys, and skill-owned settlements so replayed queues do not duplicate meter, trace, or flow artifacts. CocoFlow also runs a pre-dispatch execution conflict gate, appends domain surface learning records, validates CocoPod liveness, and writes lifecycle/context.json before dispatch. CocoWisdom adopts manifest-first memory: do-not-use.md stays universal, positive topic files load only when routed by stage or requested with $wisdom get, and branch-scoped memory remains plain Markdown for air-gap compatible review.

The controls are opt-in. [cocopod].instruction_rubric_enforcement_enabled compiles committed CocoPod instructions into lifecycle/rubric.json, applies repair/note/silent probability bands after operations and stages, and fails open with audit evidence when evaluation is unavailable. [cocowisdom].autonomous_wisdom_reflection_enabled schedules read-only reflection every configured number of turns; a separate promoter enforces autonomous-authorship, evidence-ledger, probation, and adherence-based archival rules. CocoConsole exposes both the Instruction Rubric Enforcement log and Pattern Adherence Ledger without mutating either system.

This autonomous wisdom reflection lifecycle remains disabled by default and never grants write tools to the reflector.

Installation

Install directly from the GitHub repository with Coco’s managed plugin installer:

cortex plugin install Snowflake-Labs/cocoplus
cortex plugin enable cocoplus

You can also use the full repository URL:

cortex plugin install https://github.com/Snowflake-Labs/cocoplus

For local development from a checkout, run this from the repository root:

cortex plugin install . --force
cortex plugin enable cocoplus

Upgrading an Existing CocoPlus Project

After installing the current plugin, open each existing CocoPlus project and run:

$migrate v2 --dry-run
$migrate v2

Use the dry run first. It reports the exact project-state changes, tests, validation checks, and cleanup actions before anything is written.

For manual installation details, see INSTALLATION.md.

Getting Started

$pod init — initialize CocoPlus in your project
$cocoplus on — activate all features
$cocoplus console — open the read-only dashboard
$pilot on — activate CocoPilot for the current session
$session status — inspect multi-session handoff and operator controls
$spec — start the requirements phase

See cocoplus.dev for the full documentation site.
